Payroll Consultant

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated individual to be our next Payroll Consultant and join our growing team headquartered in Chicago, IL. This position is fully remote, but client site visits may be necessary once covid restrictions are lifted.

About the Role:

This Payroll Consultant focuses on the following key areas:

  • Guide and drive the client towards the best solution for their business needs

  • Analyze existing systems, interface requirements, business processes

  • Understand client business issues and concerns and recommend and implement appropriate solution

What you'll do:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management.

  • Client Payroll Optimization:

    • Assessing clients’ payroll needs and goals to determine solution requirements, payroll services, or improvements

    • Provide strategic analysis for payroll-related initiatives and projects

    • Perform payroll processing for clients on an interim basis

    • Subject matter expert on end-to-end payroll processes and common enterprise payroll systems (ADP, Workday, UltiPro, Ceridian, etc.)

    • Perform tax reporting and year-end processes

    • Provide best practice recommendations to clients on payroll processing

  • Client Payroll Implementations:

    • Leads the payroll application/service implementation cycle

    • Participates in payroll-relevant requirements gathering, design, configuration review and fit/gap analysis

    • Coaching client team members to ensure go-live and enduring post-live success 

    • Subject Matter Expert in the Payroll knowledge area, and advising on best practices and project estimation

  • General:

    • Working on multiple projects

    • Traveling to client-sites as requested by the client or as required to ensure project success

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll processing (experience processing payroll for large companies in all 50 states

  • Experience with payroll software implementation

  • Experience with multiple, company-wide, implementations/migrations

  • Strong understanding of payroll (and related applications) system architecture

  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional mentality for a client-facing role

  • Good organizational and communication skills in English

Preferred:

  • International payroll experience 

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
